A nice check dated August 15th. 1861, just about 4 months after the start of the Civil War when Confederate forces attacked the U.S. military installation at Fort Sumter South Carolina April 12th. 1861. This check is 147 years old, and printed on the thin wafer like paper of the times just like Confederate currency. Guaranteed authentic. Great viginettes of an Indian, Milk Maiden, and a Dog on the check face. Typical star cut cancelled in the center of the check. Some paper wrinkling, but no holes or tears. Check pictured is the check for sale.
