To commemorate the 100th. running of the Kentucky Derby May 4th., 1974 we have this beautiful FDC. The cover is date canceled May 4th., 1974 at Louisville KY. The cover is stamped twice with horse racing commemorative 10 cent stamps. There were only 200 of these covers produced in this series, and this cover is marked number 23 of 200. A bonus with this cover is the crisp uncirculated 1969 one dollar bill encased in archival mylar within the cover. The upper left of the cover has a neat Derby photograph. Truly a magnificent collectable from the 100th. "Run for the Roses". Pictured at right is the winning horse of the 100th. running of the Kentucky Derby, "Cannonade".
